Vision

The college envisions being a leading national medical college excelling in medical teaching, learning and research. FMC aspires to deliver comprehensive medical education and training portfolio to undergraduate medical students with three integral roles, namely, medical education, advancement of knowledge and health services to our society.

Mission

FMC aims at promoting the development of medical sciences through the pursuit of excellence in medical education and health service delivery, nationally and internationally. The teaching staff has world-class expertise. We believe that all students should reap the benefit of their expertise, right from the first year. The staff is geared to provide patient-centered, learner-focused knowledge / training on evidence based decisions in line with vision and mission of FMC.

Principal Message

Second Emergency Medicine Foundation Program (EMFP)

Federal Medical College, Islamabad was established through an Act of Parliament on 21st March 2013. The first Vice Chancellor was appointed by the Chancellor – President of Pakistan, on the recommendations of Search Committee on 7th January 2014.

The Federal Medical College is affiliated Medical College of the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University. The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (largest tertiary care hospital in the capital) and the Federal General Hospital are the attached teaching hospitals.

Since its inception, Federal Medical College has successfully standardized the curricula, brought uniformity in the quality of healthcare education, examinations transparency and the award of Undergraduate and Postgraduate qualifications on merit. Over the last 7 years, there have been number of peer reviewed publications in both National and International Impact Factor Journals, highlighting the emphasis placed on quality research.
